I wont explain the details here till the project is finished 100%, also cuz many devs want to take a look at first and not get it patched that fast. I can say that if all will work like I want it to you'll need:
- game dump of the game you want to play from HDD (possible you need a special one)
- one (any) original bd game
- 2x minimum 60GB HDD's (illegal way - it worx but its not allowed in most countrys - its working like a packed game on psp memory stick)
OR
-1 60GB HDD + original disc (legal way - no need to be inserted while playing)
Im using newest firmware PAL 60GB SKU. 3 games tested yet - working.
Games which should be possible from the knowledge i got yet:
I cant check more atm, as I dont have else here. The final way will be a bit different than the video shows. Even there are 2 different ways then to do it, thats because there are 2 different groups of games. One can be done with 1 HDD but then you need the original disk of the game.
all in all its a hack for rich ppl as you need to have 2 big HDD's to store all games on it, which you want to play. 2 games would require actually about 50-100GB on both HDD's. if you have much space on pc hdd thats no prob as you can just backup and rewrite the data on HDD's.
i dont support piracy, this is just to safe your disks
THIS VIDEO IS JUST A PROOF OF CONCEPT - NOT A FINISHED PROJECT!!!
that means:
- proof that disk games can run from hdd without having the disk in drive
better quality vid will come when i get new hdd + repaired hdtv. the clicking which sounds like keyboard typing in the background is just the cam auto focus.
I hope you see theres no hidden PKG (game list is shown), no hidden disk (i insert motorstorm). At the end of the video i just wanted to show its no test unit --> watch the settings.
Sorry for bad TV quality, my HDTV just exploded and i need to use SDTV for 2 weeks now
if there are any questions, you can ask but i dont say ill answer all.
Dutch blog PS3 Sense reports that hackers have succeeded in loading backup games (view here) in the PlayStation 3, following an almost forgotten feat that was once promulgated by self-proclaimed hackers of Team ICE.
While German hacker and Team ICE member StreetSkaterFU demonstrated via video (view here - requires Apple Quicktime Software) how the feat was accomplished, in a surprising turn of events, PSP homebrew developer Dark AleX and Mathieulh confirmed that the exploit was actually doable and real.
A full video in Apple Movie format was released demonstrating how StreetSkaterFU was able to get Warhawk to run without the Blu-ray Disc. Despite the quality and size of the video, the developer claims that this demonstration is not fake. Take note, however, that both StreetSkaterFU and Dark AleX say that this is just a proof of concept for the moment.
Moderator FreePlay of the QJ.NET Forums says that the exploit is actual pretty simple. But according to FreePlay, the exploit is only doable if you have a second hard drive handy and have a good sense of timing.
Discussions are currently going on at the forums, but the mechanics of the exploit or its processes have not been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The ESR application requires my cdvdinit fix to be loaded first, so either use FMCB with default launcher (it will contain my fix) or launch it manually (using RUNME1.1a). If you cannot access cdvd after applying cdvdinit fix, then you're out of luck, sorry (you'll have to wait until I will find a way to fix the init procedure). It's been tested mostly with first versions of FMCB (that used crosslinking - easier to test on whole variety of consoles) and using my RUNME1.1a (but should work with any others as long as cdvdinit fix is used).
아니면 수동으로 RUNME1.1a 를 사용하여 로드하라고 하는데;
Short background: ESR is an application that gives you the possibility to launch DVD discs patched to DVDV format on unmodded consoles.
I'm attaching set of three applications. One is intended for launching games directly from dvd (but can also launch homebrew apps from DVDV discs, just SYSTEM.CNF and proper elf is needed) - "dvd direct" version . The other is to launch elf files in either mcx:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF or mcx:/B?DATA-SYSTEM/BOOT.ELF - "mcard" version. The third is "dvd direct off" version, which is almost the same as the "dvd direct" but will disable ESR after first full successful IOP reset (think about it as "mode 3" in hdloader. All should have similar compatibility (with obvious limitations for "off" version).
